Terms of Service
1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and A Star Customs ("we", "us", "our") in respect of your use of carix.uk ("the Website") and any products you order from us under the CARIX brand ("the Products").
By placing an order or otherwise using the Website you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Website.
2. About us
CARIX is a trading style of A Star Customs, a business operating from the United Kingdom. You can contact us at our contact page or by writing to the email address shown there.
3. Our products
We design, print and hand-finish premium car identity cards, stickers, keychains and display plaques. Two categories of Product are sold through the Website:
- Icon Builds. Pre-designed Products featuring a fixed make, model and colour combination chosen by us.
- Custom Products. Products personalised to your specification (your own make, model, variant, colour and specs). Custom Products are made to order and are non-cancellable and non-returnable other than where they are defective or do not match your order — see clause 8.
We make every reasonable effort to display colours accurately, but slight variations between the on-screen preview, the static product image, and the finished item are inherent to printing and screen calibration and are not considered defects.
4. Orders & order acceptance
Placing an order on the Website is an offer by you to purchase the Products in your basket on these Terms. We will acknowledge receipt of your order by email; this acknowledgement does not constitute acceptance of your order.
A binding contract is formed only when we send you a separate email confirming that your order has been accepted and is being processed. We may at our discretion refuse or cancel any order before this point — for example where a Product is unavailable, where there is an obvious pricing or description error, or where we suspect fraudulent activity. In such cases we will refund any payment already taken in full.
5. Pricing & VAT
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT at the prevailing UK rate where applicable. Shipping costs, where charged, are shown separately at checkout before you place your order.
We try to ensure prices are accurate but errors do occasionally occur. If we discover an error in the price of a Product you have ordered we will contact you to give you the option of continuing at the correct price or cancelling the order.
6. Payment
Payment is taken at the point you place your order and is processed by Stripe, our PCI-DSS compliant payment service provider. We do not see, store or process your full card details on our own servers. By submitting payment you agree to Stripe's terms and privacy policy in addition to ours.
7. Delivery
UK shipping is free on orders over £30 and otherwise charged at £3.99. International shipping is available; rates are shown at checkout. Delivery estimates are working days from order acceptance and are estimates, not guarantees.
Risk in the Products passes to you on delivery. Title (ownership) passes to you only when we have received payment in full.
Full delivery details — including processing time for Custom Products and international shipping rates — are set out in our Shipping policy.
8. Cancellation & returns
Icon Builds and other non-personalised Products. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have a statutory right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days from the day after the day you receive your goods. To exercise this right please follow the procedure in our Returns policy.
Custom Products. The right of cancellation under the 2013 Regulations does not apply to goods that are made to your specification or are clearly personalised. Custom Products may therefore not be returned for change of mind and are non-refundable other than where they are faulty, damaged on arrival, or do not match the specification you placed. See clause 9.
9. Defective products
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we are required to supply Products that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a Product you receive is defective, damaged on arrival or does not match your order, please contact us within 30 days of receipt and we will arrange a replacement, refund or repair as appropriate.
This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. User accounts
You may create an account on the Website to track your orders, save addresses and re-order Products more easily. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or close accounts in cases of breach of these Terms or suspected fraud.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Website (or attempt to use it) for any unlawful purpose; not to interfere with or compromise its security, integrity or availability; not to introduce viruses or other malicious code; and not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, or any account, system or network connected to it.
12. Intellectual property
All content on the Website — including the CARIX name, design language, card layout, photography, illustrations, source code and copy — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by UK and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, copy or commercially exploit any part of the Website without our prior written permission.
The make, model and trim names of vehicles referenced in our Products are trademarks of their respective manufacturers. Use of those names on Custom Products is for purely descriptive purposes and does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation by the relevant manufacturer.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any matter for which liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with the Products and the Website (whether in contract, tort, breach of statutory duty or otherwise) is limited to the price you paid for the relevant order. We are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss.
14. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any failure to perform, or delay in performing, our obligations where caused by an event outside our reasonable control — including industrial action, severe weather, postal disruption, supply-chain failure, or governmental action. Where such an event affects your order we will contact you and either work with you to reschedule delivery or, where appropriate, provide a full refund.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version in force at the time you place that order. The current version is always shown on this page with a "last updated" date.
16. Governing law
These Terms, your order and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. You and we each submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that if you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
